A Tetherball is a designed for and used in the game of Tetherball. The ball is commonly made with rubber and is similar to the size and weight of a volleyball, but firmer to touch due to the material. Tetherballs have a built in hook or bar on the top of the ball which is used to attach the rope used in the game, with the other end of the rope being tied to the Tetherball pole.

Construction: Tetherballs consist of 1) a butyl rubber bladder interior 2) a reinforced rubber covering 3) a recessed hook or bar on top of the ball.
Material: Tetherballs are made out of rubber with a variety of rubber compositions used for different ball feels. Softer tetherballs are a popular option which provides an easier impact on the arms for injury prevention.
Design: Tetherballs are commonly a yellow or orange color and have multiple black line grooves to orient the ball and allow players to identify spin.
